Looking at a Remington 700 stocked by Mike Connor. A new name to me. Any of you gents know of him? Any information would be much appreciated.

AkshooterHe's been around for a long time. I belive he trained under Dale Goens.
I'm just pulling this out of my rusty memory banks so it may not be 100% accurate but I kind of recall some pritty good work.
I belive he is in New Mexico.

manhassetcheck some of the 70's-80's Gun Digest, he did some nice classic style stocks and seemed to be a favorite of J. Amber. My last correspondence with him was in '77 and he went from Tijeras,NM to Lawerence, Ks. Sorry I never got one of his stocks, his checkering always sported a good lookin ribbon fleur-de-lis.

lee440Look on Champlins site under bolt action rifles. Down near the bottom, a 416 Rem in gorgeous English. Conner has had an excellant rep for many many years.

vigillinusThanks gents. Rifle I am looking at is a .375 Rem 700 with Grisel bottom metal and, sure enough, the fleur-de-lis pattern checkering.

LA7mmHe did some beautiful work for me on a custom LH Mauser 3000 with an octagon barrel. Will see if I can find his address... this was about 10-12 years ago so can't vouch for it's accuracy!
