Red Solid pad for shotgun?
Does anyone know where I can find a 1" solid red pad for a SS shotgun? The Hawkins is the only one I know of and it has the ribs on the side. I don't the Pachmayr makes the old english in red anymore. Not that this is a must but I was looking for one the other day and couldn't locate one.
Thanks,
Terry

You're right, Pachmayr does'nt list a solid red pad anymore.

Brownells lists a solid red pad made by London Guns, looks like a Silvers pad, retails for about 38.00.

Terry, I ordered a Silver's pad from an english gunsmith who works in Oklahoma. I will find his name and get it back here. I used it on the guild rilfe for this year and then covered it with leather. The one Galazan sells is not adequate. The base is soft and just not workable. I bought one and took it off.

Thanks for the replies. I was kind of looking for the old english type pad. I guess the Hawkins and the Silvers type are the only ones made in the reddish brown these days. Sort of strange I think, but I heard that the pigment for the coloring for the red pads was hard to get or too expensive??
Thanks again,
Terry
