I have a new Kimber 8400 in 300 wsm that I like alot, HOWEVER, the trigger has a creep issue. I looked in the manual, took the stock off, and called Kimber for help and got the old, "send us the gun, and we'll adjust it" bit. All I could get out of them was that the trigger is a "Timiney style", and the screw at the back of the trigger (sear contact adjustment screw) is what they ususally adjust for creep. In order to remove all of the creep, I have to set it so that the gun fires when you close the bolt smartly, the other two screws are "over travel adjustment", and "trigger pressure". The pressure screw set the pull weight, and the other seemed to do nothing at all. Any suggestions? http://www.kimberamerica.com/downloads/Manuals/8400.pdf

It's pretty tough for someone to suggest ways to safely adjust the creep out of a trigger without first seeing the particular trigger. If you are going to reduce the sear engagement, then you might think about increasing the spring tension so that the gun will not fire when slamming the bolt. If you cannot get it the way you want, and safely, using the adjustment screws, then you might want to let a professional have a whack at it.
