As recently as 2003 GMA had several others working on their actions. I was in the shop of a well known Prescott, Az. rifle and barrel maker watching him deep hole drill bolt bodies for GMA in 2003. That same year I was in the shop of a couple of extremely well known stock makers who were stocking rifles for GMA. I doubt if all their work is done in house now, but I could be wrong.

WbyPowerIs it true that the GMA action needs a lot of gunsmithing to complete, especially as to feeding. In other words, does the action come "ready to go" except for bluing.

ChisanaIn my limited experience with GMA actions and in talking with riflemakers who use them they do require a good bit of work as part of a full blown metal job, but they are a good starting point and come in the right sizes.
