Houston area 1911 "smith needed

Posted this request in "Pistol Shooting" as well...

My '78 vintage Gold Gup is showing its age as badly as its owner...need to drag it into this century (new barrel, bushing, grip safety, sights, etc.).

With the metal work all done, I'll get Turnbull to color-case the frame, then slap some handsome grips on it and turn it into an understated BBQ gun...

In Houston, Dustin Mounts on Post Oak near Galleria. Also Tip Burns, Canyon Sporting Arms, Canyon Lake Texas.

I have had work from both these gentlemen. Excellent results.

Flipper Dude

Todd Johnson in Pearland (Lone Star Armory) turns out some really amazing 1911 work. He's kinda freakish about that model! He has a website, check him out if you like.
