<eldeguello>Re: Ruger #1 trigger
My old No.1's all are easily adjustable to a good weight with no creep or backlask. My nevwer one in .375 H&H cannot be adjusted for sour apples! I took it to my (good!!) gunsmith, and he got it down to 3.5 pounds, but it still "feels weird" to me when it lets off! The best trigger I have on a No. 1 is a Canjar single-set, which has a great pull UNSET, which is the way I use it. Setting a single-set when the weather is cold and under hunting stress is problematic to say the least!

I'd like a DST on mine, but of course, there's no room for one in the No.1 design!

bowmanWhat is the best way to lighten the trigger pull on the subject rifle?

p dog shooterThe older ones were fairly ajustable in themselfs. I am planing on buying a new trigger for my sons the one that came from the factory sucks. Nothing like my older one.

bowmanWhen you say old, how old. Mine has a black but pad. I've seen them with a red pad. Is there a quick way to tell if my trigger is adjustable.

Bad Ass WallaceThe adjustment was deleted after Serial No's prefexed by 133-xxxx. So if you have 134-xxx prefix, the trigger is the new type.

p dog shooterMy old one is a 130's brought in the 1970s used red butt pad. The newer on is a 133 the trigger is not as ajustable as the old one Brownells list two differant replacement triggers. that is the way Iam going.

martinibelgianThe Moyers is a copy of the old-style Ruger trigger, and works just fine if you don't need a set trigger. Apparently, the Kepplinger is a work of art, though I never tried it - but it isn't cheap...
G;
I have a Moyer's trigger intalled on mine. I set it at 2 3/4 pounds, which is just perfect for me as it's a hunting rifle. Good crisp break to it too.
