Mystery smith J.F. Stoner, 1950s?
Seen at the Allentown show, a really high grade 1903 .270 with barrel very neatly engraved MADE FOR H.K. STRICKLER BY J.F. STONER. Actually in the G&H/Shelhamer/Owen class for style and workmanship. Unertl 4x in Tilden mounts puts it around the 1950s. Does anyone know anything about this very able gunmaker?

Mark

You really need to get familiar with that new camera so you can post pictures of things like this. Wink Smiler

Oval cheekpiece? Lots of checkering? Type of grip cap and butt plate? Hinged floorplate? Any other special attributes?

Many thanks
