redoing mauser locking recesses
I have a 1909 argentine which appears to have some slight setback. anybody ever put one of these actions in a lathe and recut them even.

The only one I've played with that has set back (about .005") I lapped the divots out, but I havn't had a chance to send it out for re-heat treat yet.

butchlambertI've only done one and it took .008 to clean up. I do have some short, fat solid carbide boring bars. It did get recased.

airgun1Is tiN spatter welding a viable option? I knew a guy who had a little machine that would add .002" per pass. I often thought that it would be handy for restoring bolt faces and locking lugs and recesses.

airgun1The plant he worked at moved to the Mexican town across from Brownsville, TX and he went with it. I can't think of the town.
