Cape gun: need nickel REMOVED...and then case-colored

I can buy a nickel-plating removal system and (try to) do it myself, then send for case-coloring......OR...maybe some of you folks can offer better suggestion. It is a Belgian cape gun....16/7x65R ....worth makng nice.....nickel is partially peeling from receiver....I want it all gone...followed by a nice case-coloring.
Any suggestions....PLEASE>>>
