Weatherby MK V barrel threads, old and new
Hey all,
I have an old German MK V action that needs a different tube. Will a new model take-off barrel have the same threaded shank as the old one, with headspacing being the only modification necessary? Thanks,
Greg

Get the real skinny directly from Weatherby. They cofirmed for me that the Jap models (made by Howa) and the U.S.-made models share a common thread pattern, but I don't know about the German models (made by Sauer).

GeorgeS,

Given the same manufacturer (Japan) and the same boltface, what is the likelihood that a take-off Wby factory barrel will mount on another action and be within headspace tolerances ?
