The reason I ask, I had a gunsmith take the Dakota 3-psn safety off the bolt for my MK X 375 H&H and install on the bolt for my MK X 300 H&H project

Now I want a 3-psn safety for my 375 H&H; cocking piece & bolt were milled for the Dakota but I’d like to go with Gentry this time since they come blued

Will there be any problem with timing?

First off, IMHO, don't go withthe Gentry. Secondly, it can be fitted but it may have to be adjusted to work correctly.

I've looked at NECG & Ed Lapour's but they are quite a be spendier

There are those that will argue with me but the bottom line is, you get what you pay for

I've used Lapours(Wisners) and Dakotas, several of each, and like them both; the Dakota is good and the Lapour is, IMO, much better. Don't know nuthin about the NECG.

I have quite a few different ones as I have a very serious obsession with older, classic hunting rifles. I have Wisners, La Pours, Satterlee, Dakota and have used some of them hard for over 20 years in dirty, wet mountain conditions.

The list above represents my opinion as to the overall quality of these, Jim Wisner's were THE finest and finished like my old Rolex, but, all of these are good and from my experience with NECG products, actually Recknagel of Germany, I would buy them as well.

I have heard enough from sources I trust to tend to avoid Gentry's and with Dakota parts, I make sure that a smith of the level of Ralf Martini installs them. Just my opinion, hope it helps.

I've installed as many as a dozen 3-pos safetys...

Three of them Gentry and the rest Dakota.

I've had my frustrations with both but have never been stung with one....Brownells will take them back and Gentry took one back and sent a new one for the Mark X.....

I've not tried the LaPour as it is a bit spendy.....but sure don't hear anyone complain about them.
