ACRecurveaperture on leupy base?
Is anyone making a backup aperture or ghost ring rear sight that'll fit on a rear Leupold base? Thanks!
Good hunting,
Andy

Once upon a time Leupold offered a base with a built in folding peep. I have had a coule of them over the years. They were adjustable for elevation.
I assume that it was discontinued when most new rifles in the USA started to be made with out sights, thus no front sight for the peep.

J.D.SteeleI use the early Redfield folding peep that attaches to the rear of the rear base; it's adjustable for both windage and elevation.

Joe, I've seen the Redfield folding peeps attached to gun specific bases, did they make a universal one that fit their regular bases?

ACRecurveI wonder if Talley would custom fit one of their peeps to a Kimber (Leupold type) rear base? Anybody know? Anybody used one?

El DeguelloThe old base I had with the peep on it required a much taller front sight than the standard height......

Rob, I use sights that I cannibalize from old Redfield bases. It requires 2 D&T'ed holes in the rear of the base, 2-56 or 3-56 (CRS!) and I recall breaking a few taps until I learned to control my ham-fisted brute-force approach (G).

lavacaExchanged e-mails with Brockman. He said it could be done with the Kimber. A little custom fitting. I've got a .458 Lott Caprivi that I want done.

ACRecurveI sent an email to Talley. If they can't/won't do it, then I'll contact Brockman. Thanks, y'all!

I put a pretty big aperture on a Williams base part way down the barrel where the open sight use to be, works pretty well.
