Is there some kind of rule that you have to burn yourself on the hot metal or steam before the job is finished. killpc

Yes, that is part of the process. You become one with the job.

I use the Bobster method I still manage to get a burn, just clumsy I guess. Makes a good finish tho,

Enlighten me as to what the Bobster method is. I have seen the steam pipes with the kettle attached and was wondering if that is used to speed up the rusting process or in-lieu of the hot water bath.
