Just received a #3 and the spring was very loud on closing the action. There is a allen screw on the spring end, have adjusted some and reduced the noise but not sure what it should be ajusted too ?

If it is what I am thinking it is, it adjusts the ejector. If you turn it one way it will kick the fired case out completely, and if you turn it the other way, all the way, it will simply act as an extractor. Yours might be set to eject the case completely and therefore you are compressing the spring when youo are closing the action. Again, just a guess.
