Can you guys please let me know what solvents a person can use to successfully thin accuraglass?

Use acetone. It's available at any hardware dept.

It's VERY flammable!!!! Watch out.

What about using some of the alcohols mentioned in the chemical composition of the expoxy?

Can a person thin out the expoxy with acetone enough so you could finish a stock as in an oil finish application?

Clear epoxy thinned with acetone makes a good stock finish for some folks. It's doesn't pass my taste test so I don't. But I DO use it to seal ivory, oosik, bone, antler and tropical wood knife handles and it does well.

For an "in the wood finish" go to THE ROT DOCTOR and read up on "clear penetrating epoxy sealer". I have some but haven't tested it yet for use as stock finish. It might be a great foundation.

At Home Depot I get a quart of expoxy resin and tube of hardener for $10.
It is thin and runny.

The Acraglass and Acraglass gel are what I am used to.

JB Auto Weld is two tubes that make a paste I use for sights and scope mounts.

Brownell's Atomized Steel is a powder I use like fleck to thicken mixtures.

Devcon Plactic Steel Liquid and Devcon Plastic Steel Putty are thicker and slower than I would expect.
