Chamber Profile other than Featherweight
Im not a great fan of FW chamber reinforce. I mostly do like a little more meat. Not neccessarily a full #1 for lighter cal. like 257,6.5,7x57.
Tc1 has a nice 9.3x62 with good solid mass chamber area. I was thinking something simliar to WSSM type reinforce&barrel profile for the smaller cals.

Would some consider putting the more radical wssm type .535@22"profile(or variation off) on your 308win/3006 case based cartridges?

Woodjack,

I do it all the time. I specify a Douglas #1 profile with a 1" reinforce. I usually have the length cut 22" from the front of the receiver.
Done this on everything from 7mm-08 to 30-06.

Jumped to a #3 with a 1" reinforce for the 338-06 though.

On a mauser, that's about 22 5/8" of barrel.
