Ruger #1 take-off for an Enfield?
Having no idea what the shank diameter of a #1 barrel is, I thought I would ask. Is there enough substance to it for re-threading to P-14 / P-17 specs?

If the answer is yes, who has a 416 barrel or can point me to one? [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Thanks,
Todd

I doubt it. I think the P14-17's are the ones with the larger thread dia.

If you have the action there without the barrel measure the inside dia of the Enfields threads.

The minor dia of a Ruger #1 barrel is .923"

Sorry Todd---

The Pi17 has to have a special sized barrel...... 1.325 at the chamber section and 1.125 thread O.D..

...not to mention the threads are also square.

Todd the threads on the Ruger # 1 is 1"x16 tpi. Too small for what you want to do.

So Todd, what they are saying is you should let me have that action. [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Bluetick you'd probably like this action, it's already had all the work done except massaging the feed rails for big cartridges.

Thanks all for the replies. I was thinking 416 Rigby, and hoping to save a few $$ by using someone's take-off, but it appears the only takeoff that would work is from another enfield.
