Barrel thread info
Is there a site (link) that lists specs on all the popular barrel threads (rem, win, ruger, weatherby, etc.) including interchangeability?

I have a take-off only stamped "USE ONLY WEATHERBY .300W.M." (no other markings); the threads look the same as Rem 700 except no relief for a recoil lug -- am wondering what it's off? Have other take-offs also.

I do my own barrel work and have never found such a site. The old SHOOTER'S NEWS magazine ran a series featuring a different action each month and if you can round up back issues they really help. They were the work of Troy Newlon and I believe he sells re prints. 209-291-6648. For the older actions Roy Dunlap's GUNSMITHING covers most of them and there are several in Brownell's GUNSMITHING series. Good Luck.

I don't know of a web site, but DeHaas in his books Bolt Action Rifles and Single Shot Rifles gives thread diameters, lengths, etc. in the back. Also, the NRA gunsmithing series of books has several articles with deminsions listed.

Sonofagun:

Why not try a thread guage? That way you will know for sure. Some threads are pretty close but close only counts in horse shoes and handgrenades.

Macfarland's gunsmithing book has barrel threads.
