I am going to move forward with a .264 Winchester Mag custom build. What barrel contour would you go with????

Definitely going to go with 26 inch finished length.

My second .264 Winchester Magnum is on a Sako Finnbear action with a 26" Douglas Supreme, medium-heavy barrel. It is very accurate and is my "reach out and touch something" rifle. Prone, off a bipod, with little or no crosswind, it has killed half a dozen mulies and pronghorns at and a little beyond 500 ranged yards on the prairies of east-central Wyoming. The 140 grain Nosler Partition, at 3200 fps, is like a death ray from this rifle, given the proper shot placement of course.

Go with what ever barrel comes out at .600 dia at the Muz.

That would be a good dia. Looking at most of the normal contours most have .6 at 24" and .625 at 26". I've used several .575 at 24" but think it would look a bit light at 26"

I like the pre-64 barrel contour, less the "dog nut", definate 26"
