ScottMod 70 Timney trigger help
I was putting together my new trigger on my mod 70 and noticed that there is no back hole for the second pin to slide through. Is this normal? You can see in the picture what I mean. Or am I doing something very wrong?

MasteriflemanIt is similar to the Mauser replacement trigger in that large screw with locknut up forward is screwed in with the trigger pin in place to rock the rear portion of the trigger into the groove cut in the receiver until it is firmly in place. Just lock the nut down firmly and it should be good to go. As other posters have mentioned in this forum, the Model 70 trigger itself is easily tuned to provide the best trigger available for that rifle. You might want to return the Timney and have a smith tune your factory trigger.

vapodogIt's been a while since I installed a Timney to a M-70 IIRC there was some modification that had to be made and that modification precluded using the original M-70 again.
Reread the directions that come with the trigger. Be certain you got the correct trigger for the model 70 They don't install as easily as a M'98
