Can the trigger pull be adjusted on a 77? Mine is a little stiff and has some creap. I'd like to clean it up a little..P

fredj338Old M77, yes. New MKII, no. You can have agunsmith tune it or buy an after market to get a sweeter trigger.

p dog shooterI tried and tried then I just went out and brought some Spec tech triggers and had a good pull shortly. I would go with a good after market instead of playing around with the factory one.

jstevensThe factory trigger on a MkII isn't hard to lighten. If you look at it, as the trigger is pulled, it pushes upward against the spring pressure, you just file the angle back to 90 degrees so it slides across the sear and will go to about 2.5 pounds. There are a couple of other little tricks, but I can fix one faster than installing a Timney.

Hired Gun http://www.centerfirecentral.com/77trigger.htmlThey might not have "adjustments" but they are plenty adjustable. I only have the use of one arm. I can do one in one try to 32 ounces (2 pounds) in 20 minutes start to finish. Wood to Wood. Give me some time (45 min) and I can get 16 ounces or any weight, to the ounce you desire, safe and repeatable. I can monkey with a factory Remington trigger for hours and never get the trigger quality I can acheive with the 77 MarkII trigger. I would never waste money on a trigger for the Mark II. If I was legal and could get 20 bucks a trigger I could make a fortune but, for now, I'm stuck doing them for free.
