morton3Adapter cartridges - .308 fires M1 carbine
Has anybody had experience with adapter cartridges ?
I read a few articles years ago & would now like to give them a go.
As I live in Australia I`d have to manufacture my own due to firearm import laws etc.
I have quite a bit of M1 ammo & a .308 rifle so all I need is the adapter.
Can anyone point me in the right direction ?
Can I machine bore the chamber inside the adapter or should I buy a reamer ?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers Morton

http://mcace.com/ for adapters.
i don't understand aussie laws, but i don't understand how a piece of tubing is considered a firearm.
good luck.

rugeruserMort,
I've tried an adaptor (22mag/223) and found that the only thing it was useful for was putting bogged stock down, with the muzzle against the head.
Frankly, the adaptor is a pita to use, not at all accurate, and the difference in velocity/twist means that your sights will be WAY off.
It'd be a fun project to play around with, but IMHO, you'd be better off spending the day fishing off Stockton Beach and pegging the M1 Ammo at seagulls...
