Brett375 Ruger Conversion
How much more difficult / expensive would it be to convert a 270win to 375 ruger as opposed to a 7mm Rem / 338 Win etc.?
Best regards;
Brett

If your .270 is a CRF.....theoretically all you need to do is convert the bolt face to magnum and some rail work and some extractor work and a new barrel
If you started with a 7MM Rem Mag then you already have the feeding ( assumadly) and the correct bolt face.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 375 Ruger has a different diameter head and case than the 7-mag, so all of what you said about the 270 would apply to either.

weagleBack when everythng was just speculation re: the .375 ruger, rumor was that it was going to have an odd sized case head. Now that it has actually hit the market, the case head is the same as mainstream belted magnums.
To go from a 7mm rem mag to the .375 Ruger should be a straight barrel swap. Going from .270 would require the same bolt face and rail work as going to any other belted mag (7mm rem mag etc)
I've got a Herters J9 (zastava action) 7mm mag that's going to be converted to 375 ruger as soon as the prechambered barrels hit the market.
Weagle.

eddieharrenI had a customer in the shop last Sat. who had 1 round of Hornady 375 Ruger ammo and it has a smaller head than the WSM that I held it up against. I did not take time to measure the difference but it was definitely smaller.

The .375 Ruger round has the same diameter head as a standard Magnum

Weagle - thanks for gettin' me up to date on that. I'm thinking the same thing with the Mark X action I have.
