What the h*** is a tombstone safety
I just read a post that said something about a "tombstone safety" while discussing an M40 (Remington) rifle. What is a tombstone safety?

Somewhat flat on the top, rather than round. Viewed from the side, they resemble a tiny tombstone.

The rifle shown in this thread:

is so equipped.

Also, if you rely on it, you might need one.

i've never had a problem with my Remington safetys. Just never heard the tern before. Also, keep the muzzle up and downrange even when you know it is not loaded.
