ADL or SPS action for a donor ?
I have a blued Remington 700 ADL short action and also a stainless steel Remington 700 SPS short action, both are in 7mm-08. Anyway I am going to use one or the other as a donor action for a 6mmBR varmint rifle. Question is this: from a gunsmithing point of view, is there any difference between either an ADL or SPS in regard ease or difficulty in blueprinting and trueing the action? The reason I ask is the SPS appears to have a "rougher" finish that the ADL and I just wonderd if it made it harder to work on? Maybe its a dumb question, but it made me wonder anyway. Can the SPS finish be bead blasted so it is not quite so rough looking?

Thanks

Yes, I had that done to my 243 SPS. Worked well.

From a gunsmithing point of view, either action will be a fine candidate.
