I got a stainless synthetic 223 Kimber .I'm trying to learn how to shoot a light barrel and find good loads.
After reading about possible Kimber accuracy problems I looked at the muzzle .The bead blast finish goes right to the rifling - no crown as such .
Comments please .

Does it not shoot good?

You should be able to see each land a groove cleanly. Closely examine the blast print for consistency. The slightest inconsistencies can spell trouble. A heavy build up of carbon and powder residue around the muzzle can affect bullet flight. Most folks neglect this area when cleaning their rifles and wonder why their groups aren't tight as before. This is but just one reason.

The gun is too new to know if it's good or bad . Mostly I'm shooting up some garbage ammo then I'll get serious.

You're a metallurgist, why would you purposely induce premature wear shooting crap ammo? If you are concerned about the accuracy, I would quit shooting the garbage ammo and get on with the serious stuff while you still have a premium throat.

I'm shooting it slowly , trying to keep the barrel cool and thinking maybe those rounds will do some 'break in' .
It's all new to me even as a long time shooter - new cartridge, light gun and light barrel. A long jump from a 45-70 !!
