Cosmetic correction
Well, I had my front swivel base half way inletted when I noticed it was off center a smidge killpc I shouldn't have doing stock work tonight as it was a long day....anyway is there any way to draw a persons eye away, mainly mine as it will drive me nuts, by perhaps a checkering pattern that breaks up the center line, a visual illusion or such. Thanks, Rob.

you could always have a new set made just a hair larger so as to recenter it while covering the mistake you made. I would do that before I would have a stock that bothered me everytime I looked at it.

You might put and ebony inlay in there and redo the swivel, but that would require another in the rear. Checkering it would still show off center. I did that one time and the stock was fairly long, so I cut it off and gave the rifle a 8.5 inch long forearm such as you see on a English rifle, then put the fron swivel on the barrel..Since that time I have used the short forearms as I like them much better on a hunting rifle.
