Major CaliberBought a 1936 Mexican
I got a 1936 Mexican barreled action, for $150. No pitting, nice crest, not drilled and tapped, orginal curved bolt, and Springfield cocking peice. Has an Adams&Bennet F34 contour 24" barrel in .260 Rem. The barrel profile is way to heavy, I want a light rifle.

I've got 257, 708, 358 and a (heavier) 376 built onto these as light rifles... the 358 is about 7.25 WITH scope and sling

fla3006Congrats on a great deal on a really nifty action and barrel. One of my next projects will be a 250-3000 on a 1910.

CustomstoxMajor Caliber,
Take the rifle to a smith and have him turn the barrel down to a more suitable contour. BTW, nice buy. I really like the mexicans, I have a 1910 in .257 Robers and one barreled in .284 Win. I bought actions at $40 and did not buy enough of them. The supply dried up fast.
