Laminated/synthetic stock replicas of Sako hunter/Rem BDL for Savage actions
Hi,

I´m a lefty considering getting a new Savage 16FLSS rifle for hunting in 7mm-08. However their stock doesnt fit me so I would like to replace it. I would like to get either a laminated or synthetic stock that is a custom drop in fully finished. The stocks I´ve tested that fit me the best are Sako hunter and Remington BDL. I´m having trouble finding stock makers that duplicate these stocks. So far I´ve only found out that Mcmillan makes them for left handed Savage actions but I find them rather expensive. It would be greatly appreciated if you can tell me about other manufacturers that make good inletted finished replicate stocks of either the Sako hunter or the Remington BDL stock for under $300

Thanks,
Jon

Any stock that Mcmillan offers for Remington 700’s can also be ordered inletted for a Savage.

For what your talking about a custom drop in stock for under $300 try the stocks made by Bell and Carlson, if your not against the thumbhole theirs is about $150 and it's made for all kinds of actions.

The M700 BDL and the Sako 75 are the two non-thumbhole stocks that fit me best. Try the B&C thumbhole, you might be suprised.

Other wise spend the money for a McMillan, it's one of the nicest going.

Try a JRS laminate stock from Boyds. I bought one for my Savage and was very pleased. They are reasonably priced and attractive. If you call them they can suggest a stock that will closely mimic the measurements from your stock.
