Bill SovernsCustom LC Smith Complete
I posted these photos on another forum a couple weeks ago but thought you guys might like to see them.
LC Smith 12 gauge. 32" barrels, skeleton buttplate, long tang, straight grip stock. This shotgun had been buffed heavily and hot blued when I bought it. Jim Dubell went over the metal to straighten things out. I did the rest. Color case work by the Color Case Company in Ohio.

vapodogThanks for the photos Bill. Your work is (as usual) beautiful. Congratulations.
The background of deerhide is fitting for sure but I think a "more colorful" background would highlight the work a bit better. Those old Smiths and such magnificient work deserves the best.

ForrestBBill, you and Jim certainly straightened that one out. That's a very classy job.

Bill SovernsSteve,
You would be correct. However, it was a lot more fun.
30 Cal - IIRC this is a 1930's something LC.

Well, other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Duane WiebeThat's a class act, Bill...I too, am a fancier of LC Smith. They were under rated for some time, but I see the prices going higher than a giraffe's blood pressure..running away from Parkers. I have always liked Color Case Co's treatment...he actually puts on a very tough and thick case..High temperature is required and this being the "case", there's a bit more chance of warpage..did you have any problem with that job? I have an LC project where I've extended the tang over the comb nose...that's why I'm asking...keep up the good work

TrophyShotPrintsBill,
As a newcomer to rifles and hunting this is one of the most nicest pieces I've seen...
Great work and the hours and $$$$'s spent on it, and the brainstorming spent on it make it TRULY IMPECCABLE...
Good for you...

Bill SovernsDuane,
I was prepared for a wrestling match when I got the metal back from Color Case. I had no issues. All parts fit back in the wood like they should have. I was equally impressed with the speed and quality of their work. The turn around time was 10 days IIRC. Thank you for the encouragement.

Beautiful piece of work and I am sure it will be well recieved next January!
OH, BTW the pics did a very good job of capturing the detail as well. It is not always easy to get the wood grain to show up as well as you did here
