ramrod340As any one use the NECG quick mount recoil pad?
I have two rifle stocks that in my great wisdom I set the length of pull up so they felt right while I had on my heavy hunting coat. Which worked great when I was doing most of my hunting in the Mtns or cold. Now as I sit in the blind here in TX in my t-shirt the stock feels SHORT. From the bench I stick on a Past and it works fine. So I'm looking for a way to add 1/4-1/2".
I saw the leather covered one that I posted the picture for. I'm looking for a simpler option.
I know I could just use a slip on when needed but I hate the looks of the rubber. Reminds me of my first $20 single shot shotgun. Next up would be a leather lace on. But I saw the NECG system that looks to me would allow a 1" pad when needed with a heavy coat and then allow me to stick on a thicker pad when needed.
Anyone used their system? Other ideas always welcome.

yetiI used some threaded dohickeys from Brownells to manage seasonal pad changes. Worked for me.

Do these then leave a gape between the pad and stock?

TC1I bought one for my .338-06 rifle project. The mounting bracket looked a little flimsy for my taste though so I just screwed it on the stock and ground it to fit without the bracket. On a plus note, it's a good looking pad, just not removable now. If I knew on the front end I was going to stain the wood I would have used black though. I give it 2 stars
