Has anyone here gotten one and used it? There's a couple good
reviews at Midway USA, but that's about the only good input
I have found.

The infernal machines should be banned; the only criterion for a barrel is how it shoots; not how it looks. I get a lot of guys who complain about the internal looks of their bores, and my first question is always, "How does it shoot". Only after we have that answer can we begin troubleshooting, and the look of bore interior is but one (small) part of the equation.
Toys for the bored and for those who have a lot of extra time on their hands.
I know, didn't answer your question.

I was at a BR smiths shop years ago. I had a rough barrel of some type in 6mm. He showed me a 6mm blank he had using a scope. Smooth as a babies bottom. Since my old barrel was only .75%MOA and looked so bad I convinced myself this new one would be fantastic. .5MOA or less.

Well after selling another rifle to come up with the $$ I got the new barrel installed. Burned god know how much powder and bullet to get a barrel of less accuracy than the old one. Roll Eyes

Trick on the old one was just don't clean it. Let if foul a touch leave a touch of copper in the rough spots and you were good to go. Make matters worse stupid me gave away the old barrel. Frowner

Sorry probably shouldn't have posted but was bored. coffee

As usual just my $.02

A bore scope really doesn't tell you anything worthwhile. It's just a toy and no better than a bore light or a piece of masking tape over the barrel with a tiny hole in it. I've had a couple of them and right now I don't have one. As a professional gunsmith I have no use for it because they won't tell me how a barrel will preform. All they are is high priced toys for kids to play with. The only person who would have a real use for them would be a barrel maker for checking his work for his own peace of mind or for a Proctologist for checking your hemorrhoids.

When I was a kid. I had the stick. I had the rock. And I had the mud puddle. I am as adept with them today, as I was back then. Lets see today's kids say that about their IPods, IPads and XBoxes in 45 years!

Well, I'm no fan of bore scopes because they really don't tell you fawk all. But Western Gun Parts got their shipment of Lymans in and Erv and I sat down with one for 5 minutes and I bought one. The guys with the Hawkeyes, Focus-scopes and others will be crying big crocodile tears. I don't care how much they whine and insist, the days of the glass and mirror optical scopes has come to an end.
