M77 conversion: Push to CRF?
A discussion I was having with another poster prompts me to go ahead and ask...

I believe I've heard the old M77's can be converted to CRF. Is this true? What's involved besides the obvious changing of the bolt face? Any other changes necessary such as the magazine or ramp? What would this cost and who would do it?

My .458 M77 is a great rifle in nearly every way, but the CRF conversion might take it one step closer to perfect if this is feasible...

Push feed Rugers have a spring loaded ejector in the bolt face that would have to be changed to a mauser style fixed ejector to change to control feed. Rojelio

Rojelio,

Yes, true! I hadn't thought about that, but of course that would be part of the change-over to CRF.
