savings in shipping
I just sent about 400 once fired cases thru the US mail. I got a one price box from the post office for $8.10 and shipped them all for that price 800 miles.

That same box of stuff (according to the local Post office would have been $14 rgularly.)

The box is about 12" X 12" X 5" deep and you can ship any weight you can put in it for $8.10 anywhere in the lower 48.

It's called a "one price box" and the box is free from the local post office.

Next time you want to ship stuff of about that size you might want to check it out.....I shipped a VZ-24 action to Oregon the other day and it cost me $9.00.....not a big deal but I could have shipped three of them for less in the "one price box".

I'll post this in classifieds as well.

Hey VapoDog, Thanks for the scoop. I love hearing about folks getting a "deal" and that does sound like it has possibilities.

I shipped a tailstock for a 12" lathe in one last month. Don't remember the weight but the girl did tell me I'd saved over $30.00 though! clap
Yes, they are quite a bargain.

I wonder how long this will last before the USPS figures out how much they're losing. Better ship those bullets and lead ingots while the gittin is good! Big Grin

There are two boxes, 14" x 12" x 3.5" and 11.25" x 8.75" x 6" and it is a two year experiment and it started in 2004 and will end later this year. I hope they keep it up as I use it often. The maximum weight is 70 pounds and I have heard of people 2 @ 25 pound bags of lead shot in them.

Last year they were $7.70 amd this year it is $8.10. I hope they continue with it.
