Does anyone know if the Vanguard/Howa 1500/S&W 1500 series of rifles use a follower different than the one used for .30-06/.270, for their .300 Win mag/7mm RM rifles?

You could give Weatherby a call to verify but I just measured my 30-06 Vanguard and my 338 Win Mag Vanguard followers and the 06 is about 20 thousandths narrower and five thousandths shorter than the 338. My 06 follower did not come with the rifle. I bought a metal follower for it to replace the plastic one. Can't recall if I bought the metal follower from Weatherby or Howa.
