Since the 24/47 Mauser action is shorter than the vz-24 what would be acceptable cartridges for the 24/47? I was hoping to build a 35 Whelen. Will that work? Thank you for your help.-----------Pegleg

The intermediate length 98's are a bit too short to be a good choice for an '06 length round. I did one on a M48 Yugo in '06 once. It worked OK, but the bullets had to be deeply seated to fit the mag. I wouldn't do it again, I'd go with a round in the "x57" or 308 family.
