Textured paint - sources?
I've got a rifle that has a McMillan stock that is painted in their textured olive paint. I'm thinking of buying a Basner's High-tech stock for another rifle, but I want to paint it with a paint that is as close to/or identical to the McMillan.

Any sources/ideas?

Thanks.

If you are going to carry a big stick, you've got to whack someone with it at least every once in while.

Try WalMart for textured paint or an auto parts store for wrinkle finish(seriously).

I paint stocks all the time using the same paint and technique as McMillan.

PM me if you're interested.

Redlander,

Here is a crazy idea I've tried on machinery that has worked very well, but I've never tried it on a rifle stock.

I was restoring a lathe, and I wanted a nice textured finish that was resistant to solvents. After some research, I went with Sherwin-Williams Macro-Poxy 646. They can match the color to what ever you want, but you have to go to the Sherman Williams industrial paint store. It is a two part paint (1:1 mix) and if you apply it with moehair rollers, you get a perfect textured finish that resists just about any kind of solvent we use on our rifles.

Hope that helps.
