gunmakerIs Jon Doiron shipping ANYTHING?

I've had a left handed cutter on order for over a year. It was paid for up front. I haven't had any responses from him since last November.
His last email response was this
sorry for the delays... as the checkering biz is slow i had to find a full time job... looks like i owe you 1 LH .050".Has ANYONE verified that he's even still alive??????

Marc_Stokelda friend of mine talked to him just a couple of days ago. He ordered a new checkering machine and sent his money, and was told it will be ready in a couple of months.
His comment is what I think is the main reason custom guns and related stuff are so terrible for schedule. It is a damn hard way to make any living at all, and that causes problems. I feel for him and totally understand, but that does not help you or the others waiting on tools.

gunmakerDoes your friend have Doiron's phone# on his caller ID? Maybe his cell phone? Did he talk to him during the day? night? weekend? I've tried his listed number SEVERAL times and NEVER got a response.
I ordered AND PAID FOR two new cutters a year ago April, one 90deg LH and one 75deg LH and sent my old 75 back for resharpening. I did get the 90 quickly because it was in stock and my 75 sharpened in around 6 months.

Toomany ToolsI just received a shipping notification from UPS for the checkering outfit I ordered so looks like there is some activity over there in Western Mass.
I hope he can get his business back on track.
