Oregon45Contouring a Talley base on an "express" length Winchester Model 70?
I have a Model 70 in 7STW that will soon become a 375 H&H, it has the .330 hole spacing on the rear bridge. I would like to use Talley bases but would rather not have the rear base overhanging the action. Can the rear base be cut back and contoured to match the action without overhanging, or would this interfere with the mounting of the ring?

j stoviakThe .330 model 70 bases from Talley don't hang over. I am trying to get him to make a rear extension that does hang over just a bit so the scope can be mounted farther forward to accomodate the newer over 4" eye relief scopes with the long European eye pieces.. Order direct from Talley he will make sure you get what you need.
