Friend Is thinking about replacing the stock on his Remington Model 7. He likes the way the CDL stock looks and feels. Now my question is do the Model 7 and the 700 have the same foot print. If not what is the differance. I know the 700 would have to be a short action. Are the barrel contours about the same. His model 7 has the short barrel( 18 inches I think).

Model 7 action is about 1/2" shorter than the short 700.....stocks won't interchange......
