Bipods on a Blaser
How are you guys going about putting a bipod on a Blaser rifle that has the front sling stud facing forward? Is there an adapter or another system?

You can use their carbon bipod: http://www.blaser.de/index.php?id=1816&L=1

It requires a hole be drilled in the stock for the bipod boss to be glued into.

There were adapters that replaced the sling swivel and gave you a spud to mount a versa-pod style bipod to. May find one on Ebay. I don't believe they are still made.

Beyond those, you could mount a short rail on the fore arm and relocate the sling swivel.

Maybe get hold of Biebs and see if he knows of something else.

If you prefer function to aesthetics, I'd glue in a couple threaded pieces of aluminum that are flush with the bottom of the stock. Then screw a short piece of rail to it. Now you have something standard that you can mount bipods, sling attachments, probably flashlights and bayonets, etc. Then if you want it back flush to shoot off bags or for storage, then undo a couple screws.

This is what I've been doing for small and big alike. QD attachments let me reuse the bipods and slings on other stuff easily. 2ยข

The real question, of course, is why you'd want to ruin a perfectly good bipod by putting it on a Blaser.

good question - you use it as a corner fencepole that way. you tie the barbed wire to each bipod leg
