Besides midway usa and brownells who else handles stockmaking accesories like forearm tips and whiteline spacers

I don't know where you get white spacers, but forend tips come from blocks of Ebony wood I buy from wood dealers.

If you are looking for white line spacers can I assume you are repairing a Weatherby? If so you would be looking for rosewood when buying from a wood dealer for the forend tip. If not for a Weatherby you want to look original, why???? White line spacers (Yuck) just aren't used anymore, at least in the crowds that I run with......

As far as the ebony though, a wood dealer can get you what you want a lot cheaper than Brownells carries them.

I'd look at a knife supply for spacers or pool cue making supply house for white inlay material. Those are the only places I know that use that kind of material.

If you are only looking for one piece of ebony for a gun, PM me and I'll send you one. I carry a lot in stock so it has time to age.

I'm actualy putting together a 1898 krag sporter that my dad started years ago when white spacers where still cool

If my memorey serves white spacers on Weatherbys stocks were Holly. Roy Weatherby gave me a Mesquite semi-inlet when I was in gunsmith school and he told me the spacers were Holly. Where you would get holly I have no idea. There was a dimension mill in my home town that used to make shuttles for looms from holly but that's the only time I've ever seen it used.

"Teak & Holly Sole" - it's used to make interior flooring in yachts. Marine cabinet makers will have it ...

I didn't get your address with your PM. If you will send it to me, I can send you out a piece of ebony. I most likely have more than I will ever use.

These guys may be able to send you samples that are large enough for your project.

I have seen guys use anything from clorox bottles to maple veneer for whiteline spacers; Heck I bought($30.00) a used XXXX pre War Win 70 stock onetime and it had 1/4" thick milky white teflon spacers....YUCK!!! It got Brazilian rosewood installed in it's place. Prettiest stock I ever owned and wish I still had it; I have tried to buy that gun back a dozen times but my friend won't sell!

While on the subject of ebony. A year or so ago I could have bought a coal black piece 2.5x2.5x12" for $25.00, now that same piece is $45.00 dollars at Woodcraft. I have some laying around and dont know if I really need anymore or not. I was told or read somewheres that ebony is now concidered almost imposible to find in tree form, and is restricted/no longer being imported...is there any truth to this? I'm talking about the solid black ebony that has no brown streaking to it, the good stuff. Is this B.S., if not I may have to go and get it, just in case...
