How to remove DuraCoat
I recently purchased a rifle/scope combo that had been finished with DuraCoat.

I am not going to use the scope on the rifle and would like to remove the DuraCoat. The rifle and scope were not undercoated or primed, just cleaned and sprayed.

How / what is the best way to remove the DuraCoat.

I should mention that I only want to get it off the scope.

About the only way to remove is blast it off.

From their site.

How easy is DuraCoat removed?
Not easy at all. The elastic nature of DuraCoat resists blasting. A qualified individual, with the proper blast media, can safely remove DuraCoat without damaging the surface of the firearm. Be careful. In most cases, we recommend lightly blasting the surface, being cautious not to remove any DuraCoat. Just "beat up" the DuraCoat giving it "tooth" so your new application of DuraCoat has something to adhere to.

As usual just my $.02
