Bobby B.teflon coating
I'm sending a couple of my Sako actions to Hart for rebarreling and am considering having Hart teflon coat them. Anyone have any experience with teflon coating?

larrysI had a custom model 70 tefloned since the action was blue and the barrel is stainless and it is great as far as mine goes. But I will say I treat it just like my other rifles, I don't let it sit wet, etc. just because it is coated. I did this one about 10 tears ago and I can see no signs of wear or use, at all.

butchlambertI've had great luck with 3 hunting rifles and am sending another to Walter Birdsong in Florence, Miss. He is supposed to be the best and is reasonable.

Dr. LouWhat's the cost to fully Teflon coat a rifle? I know it's about $320 to have Robar coat it with NP3. Lou

Butch, What does he charge and what is the turn around time?
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

butchlambertWalter said he gets $198 for a complete rifle. He wants all the metal including the scope rings w/o the stock. He even does the firing pin and spring. He does the scope rings so the scope and rings don't slip. He is about 4-6 weeks.

ChisanaI have four firearms that have been coated with Black T in Walter's shop and his work is first class. With pistols he will even remove the sights to coat the dovetail cuts and mics the sights so that he can return them to your proper zero. I wouldn't consider anyone else for a teflon type finish.

butchlambertChisana,
I trained some guys from Dutch Harbor in the late 70's. When they got back they air freighted me 50lbs. of King Crab meat. Not legs, just meat. It cost me a case of Oly and a case of Heinekin when they were in Anchorage. Great guys.

Butch,
Those were the good old days, before my time out here. The days of "Fancy Pack" king crab were long over when I got here in 1998. Today that 50 pound box of meat would be worth a whole cooler full of beer! What were the guys you worked with doing out here?

butchlambertAt the time they were maintaining a fleet of Subaru Police cars. I spent a week training them in maintenance procedures and having a few cool ones at night.
