Why is that I see 30-06 0/U rifles which is a rimless case but a lot of the 7x57s are 7x57r.

A lot of 9.3x74r but no 9.3x62...

Double rifles can and are chambered in rimless calibers with the addition of a spring loaded secondary extractor, if one doesn't mind the possibility of an extra problem. The very nature of doubles makes them better candidates for rimmed ctgs. (NB. : the 9,3x74R being the ballistic twin of the 9;3x62, there's no need to look for possible trouble and the same goes for the 7-8x57-60's and their rimmed versions...).

It�s a tribute to those US citicens who think there is nothing capable of taking game, except something made in the USA :-)

Honestly, being the most popular chambering in the world, and that You can get ammo everywhere and there is a broader selection of bullets and its pressure is not too high, its a logical thing to do.

The .30 R Blaser would be its successor, a unique case, but with more capacity, so it rather compares to the �06s Magnum loadings or the H&H case. But thats a newer development.

My advice is to never buy a double rifle chambered for a rimles cartridge, either belted, or plain! The flanged cartridges just plain work better!
