Black T is better overall, but Gun Kote offers more colors and you can do it yourself. It works best if the metal has been parkerized as a prep; that gives it something to "bite" on for a more secure hold.

For stainless steel you pre-blast the metal (120 grain) and they sell a solution that pickles the cleaned metal right before you spray on the gun Kote.

I have done a half dozen guns with gun Kote, it is easy enough to do.

Duracoat is repackaged industrial epoxy, Matt Lauer cut a fat hog and good 'on him.

I, too, have had great luck with Duracoat. I have done a dozen rifles and they all turned out great. Once it cures, it's on for good. Lou

Of the two listed, Black T is better, and I offer KG Guncoat services.

I have had the best luck with Norrell's Moly Resin. I coat headers for a living, so I have all the equipment to do all the coatings "correctly" and so far this is the best I have used. And no I don't have a ffl, so I don't do other's guns and am in no way associated with Norrell's, just think there cocating is the best I have tried.
