Starting with a standard 8X57 Mauser action, what is the maximum rim diameter I can hope to modify the extractor to accomodate? (over the standard .4730). Thanks in advance and God bless.

What do you have in mind? One might have to recut the bolt face as well? vangunsmith

Ihave seen the Siamese Mauser bolt cut to fit a .45/70.
The Siamese has the same diameter bolt as a 98.
The 45/70 rim is about .608. It worked well but I would really stick with something a little smaller.
