22 LR - bedding or not?
Does anyone have any suggestions on whether or not I should bother to bed a 22 LR ?? I have two of them that are very accurate and I was wondering if bedding made much of a difference.

One is a heavy barrel match rifle; the other is a sporter weight barrel. Both are very accurate.

Thanks,

Well, what do you call accurate, and what is your objective? I don't bother with bedding unless it is needed. A 10/22 shooting 2.5" groups at 50 yds when I want a squirrel shooter is an example of one that needs it. A Ruger 77 in .358 Win. that shoots groups as small as 1/4", probably not. It can have a very positive effect, in fact it has on all of the guns I've done it to, BUT I haven't done it to all of mine.

NEVER, and I repete, NEVER mess with a accurate rifle!!!

If it ain`t broke don`t fix it!
If you are getting POI changes, fliers, stringing, you might try bedding the rifle............

It would help to know
1-what kind of rifles are they?
2-what kind of accuracy are they produceing?
3-what kind of ammo?
4-what are you useing them for? {hunting-target-plinking}
5-what kind of improvements are you looking for?
