Adjusting the Howa trigger
A friend of mine was given a NIB Mossberg 1500 (Howa) and wants to take some of the take up out of the trigger. Does anyone have a link to how to adjust the trigger on a Howa 1500?

Thanks

I don't have a link, but I have worked on one of those triggers. I found that if you understand a M700 Remington trigger, you can pretty quickly figure out the Howa. They have the same 3 adjustments as I recall.

On my Weatherby Vanguard (Howa 1500), if you took to much of the creep out of the trigger, the safety wouldn't work. I have a hunch that this will be a bigger hassel than you think. Good Luck

As I recall, when I bought my wife's, the firing pin sometimes dropped as you closed the bolt. The problem was the same: the previous owner had tried to reduce the sear engagement too much. About an eighth of a turn in fixed it.
