Melani QD rings
Has anyone given these new rings a try? I am considering picking up a couple pair but, want to hear more about them before I commit. I guess they are about $150.00 for the rings & another $40.00 for the bases? Any thoughts on quality, fit & finish?

Does Melani have a website?

Thanks,
Dave

DavidC,

I'm not certain, but I think these are the QD rings and bases Chic had mention sometime back either here or at HA, and it seems there was a site. I'd try and contact him, if he doesn't respond to this thread, he is always helpfull.

DavidC--

Chic brought me a pair back from the SCI show. They're extremely well made and designed. I highly reccomend them.

DavidC,
I used a pair of them in Africa and I am very happy with them. I would favor them over Talleys or any of the other US rings for that matter.

With the degree of accuracy in the manufacture, he offers a MOA repeatability or better when the optics are reattached. The guarantee only applies to rings and bases that are installed by Melani precision.

The rings are available in Low, Medium and High, .300, .400 and .500 respectively. The finish is matte in black oxide or electroless nickel. Morris said he could supply them in the white or with the black oxide bead blasted off if there was a demand. They are made in 1” $125 for one pair, $215 for two and 30mm diameters $135 for one pair and $245 for two. He also offers bases for FN Mauser, Winchester Model 70, Remington 700-721. The bases are $30 and gunsmith bases are $15.

I will continue to use them. He has a web site but if I remember it is behind in maintenance and did not have anything on these rings.

Just tried the url and it did not work. I will try to find it.
